Board changes
Carpetright plc, Europe's leading specialist carpet and floor coverings retailer, announces the following changes to its board and directors responsibilities with immediate effect.
Christian Sollesse has stepped down from the board of the Company.
Andrew Corden has been appointed to the board as an executive director, with responsibility for the European operations, which currently include The Netherlands , Belgium and the Republic of Ireland. Andrew's job title will be Operations Director - Europe.
Andrew Corden joined Carpetright 17 years ago, and has been responsible for the Company's European operations since 2008 having previously been the Sales Director for Europe since the Company's expansion into Europe. Andrew has 28 years of retail experience in the home furnishings market and has previous experience in both the food and DIY sectors.
Claire Balmforth, who joined the board at the beginning of May 2011, will assume the role of Operations Director - UK, which will incorporate her existing responsibilities for customers and our people.
Lord Harris of Peckham, Chairman and Chief Executive, said:

No other information is required to be disclosed pursuant to paragraph LR 9.6.13R of the Listing Rules of the Financial Services Authority in relation to the appointment of Andrew Corden as a Director of Carpetright.
