BLOCK LISTING APPLICATION

Coats Group plc (the "Company") announces that an application has been made to the UK Listing Authority ("UKLA") and the London Stock Exchange ("LSE") for the listing of 413,500 ordinary shares of 5 pence each in the Company ("Ordinary Shares") to trade on the LSE and to be admitted to the Official List of the UKLA. All of these Ordinary Shares are being reserved under extensions to an existing block listing and will be issued as a result of the exercise of share options pursuant to the following scheme:

413,500 Guinness Peat Group 2002 Executive Share Option Scheme ("ESOS")

It is expected that admission of these Ordinary Shares will become effective on 5 April 2018. These shares, which will rank pari passu with the existing Ordinary Shares in issue, will be allotted from time to time in accordance with the exercise of options under the Coats Group plc ESOS. 

Additionally, an application has been made to the UKLA and the LSE for the listing of 14,686,500 Ordinary Shares to trade on the LSE and to be admitted to the Official List of the UKLA. All of these Ordinary Shares are being reserved under a new block listing and will be issued as a result of the exercise of share options pursuant to the following scheme:

14,686,500 Coats Long Term Incentive Plan ("LTIP")

It is expected that admission of these Ordinary Shares will become effective on 5 April 2018. These shares, which will rank pari passu with the existing Ordinary Shares in issue, will be allotted from time to time in accordance with the exercise of options under the Coats Group plc LTIP.
