Acquisition of ThreadSol
Coats Group plc ('Coats' or the 'Company'), the world's leading industrial thread manufacturer, today announces the acquisition of ThreadSol for a cash consideration of up to $12 million.
ThreadSol's cloud-based digital applications provide an excellent fit with the existing Coats Global Services business. This complementary suite of software solutions for the apparel and footwear industries will enable brands, retailers and manufacturers to drive productivity gains, supply chain control and speed to market.
The initial cash outflow is circa. $5 million, with further payments of up to $7 million over the period to 2022.

ThreadSol is a cloud-based digital application provider whose technology focuses on fabric usage optimisation in apparel manufacturing and helps customers reduce fabric waste and costs, and establish accurate product costing. It uses proprietary algorithms built on artificial neural networks to optimise the purchasing and consumption of fabric by real-time data analytics through IOT devices. This reduces waste and costs through cut-plan process and fabric roll utilisation which helps solve one of the most pressing and complex problems in the apparel supply chain.
