New Generation of Boards

Concurrent Technologies Plc (AIM: CNC), a world leading specialist in the design and manufacture of high-end embedded computer boards for critical applications in the defence, aerospace, telecommunications, transportation, scientific and industrial markets, is pleased to announce its next generation of boards which will be based around the latest generation Xeon® processor, recently launched by Intel®.

This family of Xeon® processors offers enhanced processing and graphics performance over earlier generations of processors. It provides the Company with an additional key design expertise which can be applied to many new boards. The processors are long life cycle devices, which is an essential requirement for the Company and its customers, who require boards to be available for at least 5 years, with further extended manufacturing and repair support for anything up to 15 years and beyond.

The Company's existing customers will benefit from the introduction of boards using this new Xeon® processor family for both upgrades and new products. Similarly, new customers will benefit from the enhanced performance and feature sets of the latest boards. 

The first board using this new Xeon® processor technology is expected to be available in March. This will be a MicroTCA® architecture board, targeted at both existing and new applications within the scientific market where the Company has been active for several years. MicroTCA® is widely used within this market and this new board will provide an upgrade path for both new and existing customers.
