PUBLICATION OF PROSPECTUS

City of London Investment Group plc ("CLIG" or the "Company") announces that it has today published a prospectus in connection with the admission to listing of its entire issued share capital on the Official List of the UK Listing Authority ("UKLA") and admission to trading on the London Stock Exchange plc's main market ("Main Market") for listed securities (together "Admission").

It is expected that Admission will become effective and that dealing on the Main Market will commence at 8:00 a.m. on 29 October 2010. Trading in the Company's ordinary shares on AIM will be cancelled simultaneously. The Company's TIDM code will continue to be CLIG and, on Admission, there will be 26,263,853 ordinary shares in issue.

The Prospectus is being posted to shareholders today and copies of the Prospectus will be available for inspection at the UKLA's National Storage Mechanism, which can be found at www.hemscott.com.
