BOARD CHANGES

City of London (LSE: CLIG), a leading emerging markets asset management group, announces the appointment of Lynn Ruddick as a Non-executive director and the retirement of George Robb as a Non-executive director, both with immediate effect.

Lynn Ruddick is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants and a member of the Securities Institute. She is Non-executive Chairman of Fidelity Special Values plc and British Assets Trust plc, a Non-executive director and chairman of the Audit Committee of Standard Life UK Smaller Companies Trust plc and of BlackRock Frontiers Investment Trust plc, a member of the Investment Committee of the Pearson Group Pension Plan and a trustee of the Scottish & Newcastle Pension Plan. She is also a member of the Investment Committee of Western Provident Association and chairman of their Pension Fund Trustee Board.

Lynn worked for many years as an investment manager in both Edinburgh and London and is a former chairman of the Investment Committee of the National Association of Pension Funds. Before retiring from Merrill Lynch Investment Managers in 2004, she headed their investment trust business unit.

George Robb, the retiring Non-executive director, has been a Non-executive director of City of London since 1997, with a brief gap in 2004-5, providing support and advice to the Company through its Admission to AIM in 2006, its move to a main market Listing in 2010, and on to the present day.

Other than set out above, Lynn Ruddick held one directorship in a public listed company within the past five years - Gartmore Smaller Companies Trust plc, which was dissolved in 2009. City of London confirms that there are no items requiring disclosure under paragraphs (b) to (g) of Rule 9.6.13R of The Listing Rules.
