World Chess Reaches One Million Registered Users, Appoints Former Chess.com Design Lead, and Prepares for Major Mobile App Relaunch

World Chess plc (LSE:CHSS), the London-listed chess organisation and official partner of the International Chess Federation (FIDE), is pleased to announce several key business milestones.

One Million Registered Users

World Chess has now surpassed one million registered users on worldchess.com. This milestone demonstrates that the platform has reached a level of adoption which establishes World Chess as a significant player in the online chess sector. At the same time, the Company remains focused on increasing engagement and conversion to paid membership through recently announced features such as gamification and unlimited post-game analysis for subscribers.

Strategic Hire: Head of Mobile Design

To accelerate the development of its next generation mobile products, World Chess has appointed a new Head of Mobile Design, who previously held a senior design role at Chess.com. The appointment brings extensive expertise in designing engaging, user-friendly chess platforms at scale, and will be pivotal in strengthening World Chess's mobile-first strategy.

Mobile App Relaunch - November 2025

The redesigned World Chess mobile app will launch on 1 November 2025. The new app will feature a modernised design, faster gameplay, and an expanded feature set aimed at boosting engagement and monetisation. With the majority of online chess now played on mobile devices, this relaunch represents a cornerstone of the Company's growth strategy.
