Character Group PLC19 January 2006 The Character Group plc ("Character" or "the Company") Digital Division Approach Further to the announcement dated 9 January 2006, Character announces that ajoint notification has been filed at the Federal Cartel Office ("BundesKartellamt") in Germany by Flextronics Sales and Marketing (A-P) Limited("Flextronics") and Character's subsidiary World Wide Licenses Limited inaccordance with German competition law and merger clearance procedures inrespect of the possible acquisition by Flextronics of Character's digitalproducts division.
