BrandShield secures mandate with major international e-commerce player

BrandShield Systems plc (AIM: BRSD), a leading provider of cybersecurity solutions from brand protection to online threat hunting, is pleased to announce that it has secured a new business mandate to support one of the world's leading international e-commerce platforms ('the Client').

The new contract will see the Company provide its anti-phishing and impersonation prevention solutions to detect, prevent and shut down fraudulent websites duplicating the Client's site, and online activities impersonating the Client to perform scams targeted at potential customers. Ultimately, BrandShield's solutions are being deployed to protect the Client and its customers from online fraud.

BrandShield was selected due to the Company's unique capabilities in active detection and its fast mitigation of fraudulent activities, which are necessary when mitigating digital fraud for a customer of this scale and profile. This contract is further evidence of the ongoing trend in online scamming that has become prolific during the Covid-19 pandemic, as fraudulent online impersonations of e-commerce platforms continue to increase in frequency due to the transition to online retail.

Cybercriminals target customers looking to buy consumer products through phishing and online impersonation, which require a high-level of digital intelligence, quick detection, and AI/machine-learning analysis to combat. The Client will therefore benefit from BrandShield's highly automated SaaS offering, which provides a solution through the proactive detection of online threats, alerting the customers, and immediately removing these threats, resulting in minimal customer involvement.
