Appointment of Non-Executive Director
British Polythene Industries plc ("BPI") is pleased to announce the appointment of David Warnock (51) as an independent non-executive Director of the Company with effect from 18th August 2009.
David has 30 years' investment experience in both public and private companies, in both the UK and USA. He co-founded Aberforth Partners LLP and was a partner for 19 years until he retired from the firm at the end of 2008. Prior to Aberforth he was with Ivory & Sime plc and 3i plc.
David is a non-executive Director of Phoenix IT Group plc, Standard Life European Private Equity Trust plc and City Health Clinic Group Ltd.
Commenting on this appointment, Cameron McLatchie, Chairman, said:
"I am delighted to welcome David to the Board. David brings with him extensive experience in the investment management sector and we look forward to having the benefit of his counsel at BPI. "
There are no other details to be disclosed in respect of the requirements of paragraph 9.6.13R of the Listing Rules of the UK Financial Services Authority.
David Warnock currently owns 25,000 shares in BPI.
