Directorate and Management Changes
Beacon Hill Resources Plc, the AIM and ASX listed coal producer focussed on Mozambique, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Cristian Ramirez as Non-Executive Director effective today to the Board. Mr. Ramirez brings further extensive corporate and industry experience to the Board of Beacon Hill, through his current position as CIO (Chief Investment Officer) at Asesorias e Inversiones Benjamin (manager of Latitude Zero) a large Chilean Family Office with global investment in commodity-related sectors, domestic consumption and energy.
Mr. Ramirez has 10 years of investment and equity research experience, including Head of Equity Research at Larrain Vial, the largest Chilean Brokerage House covering mining and electric utilities. He has been active in developing a portfolio of global mining equities in the Americas, Africa, CIS and Asia, that comprises companies in their early stages of development up to large diversified names. Mr. Ramirez commenced his career with Chilquinta Energia, a Sempra Energy subsidiary in Chile, which adds to his 14 years of experience in the Electric Utility sector in Chile and Latin America. He received his Bachelor in Civil Industrial Engineering from the Catholic University of Valparaiso in Chile, and holds an MBA from Warwick Business School (UK) and a Masters in Finance from Los Andes University (Chile).
The Board further announces the resignation of Mr. Tim Jones from the Board on 24 May 2013. Mr. Jones has worked with the Company for a number of years and the Board would like to express its thanks to him for his significant contribution to the Company and wishes him well for the future. Mr. Jones has agreed to remain with BHR in his existing capacity of Company Secretary.
As previously announced, Ms. Stefanie Cronje was appointed as Finance Director of the Company's principal subsidiary Minas Moatize in April 2013. The Board is pleased to announce Ms. Cronje will now assume overall responsibility for the finance function of the Group. Ms. Cronje will dual-report to the Chief Executive Officer, Rowan Karstel and the Board of Directors. She is based in the Group's South African office in close proximity to the Company's principal asset, the Minas Moatize Coking Coal mine in Mozambique.
Save as set out in the Appendix, there are no further details in relation to the above appointment of Mr Ramirez which require disclosure under paragraph (g) of Schedule 2 to the AIM rules.
