Begbies Traynor Group plc, the specialist professional services consultancy, announces the appointment of Mark Fry to the board as Head of Insolvency and Restructuring with immediate effect.

Mark, 43, a qualified insolvency practitioner, joined the Group in August 2005 as a Partner in its Insolvency and Restructuring division when the Group acquired his Southend based insolvency practice. Since this time Mark has progressed to become both the Managing Partner of the Group's London office and the Group's Regional Managing Partner for London and the South East region. High profile cases on which Mark has recently worked include the financial restructuring of Hull City Football Club, providing advice to a listed plc in relation to the restructuring of its property portfolio, the financial restructuring and sale of Georgina Goodman (a high-end shoe retailer), as well as acting in an advisory capacity for 45 of the landlords of the care homes provider, Southern Cross.

Mark's appointment is intended to ensure that the Group is able to take full advantage of the opportunities to develop its core business across the UK and into overseas insolvency and restructuring markets.

Commenting on Mark's appointment, Ric Traynor said:
