Exercise of Options and Directors' dealing

Swallowfield plc ("the Company"), the market leader in the development, formulation and supply of cosmetics, toiletries and related household products to the own label and branded sectors, announces that it has today issued 50,000 new ordinary shares of 5 pence each (the "New Ordinary Shares") in the Company in respect of the exercise of options by Ian Mackinnon, the Chief Executive of the Company. The exercise price of the options was 73 pence. Mr Mackinnon has no options remaining following this transaction.

Accordingly, an application has been made for New Ordinary Shares to be admitted to trading on AIM and it is expected that admission will take place on 21 October 2009. 

The New Ordinary Shares will rank pari passu with the existing ordinary shares of 5p each ("Ordinary Shares"). Following this allotment, the total issued share capital of the Company will increase to 11,306,416 Ordinary Shares. All of these shares carry voting rights.

In addition, today, Mr Mackinnon sold 21,000 Ordinary Shares from his existing holding to four other directors (or their spouses) of the Company (the "Directors") at a price of £1.03 per share as follows: Shena Winning acquired 5,000 Ordinary Shares; Jane Fletcher's husband, Simon Fletcher, acquired 3,000 Ordinary Shares; Patrick Gaynor acquired 5,000 Ordinary Shares; and Peter Houston's wife, Susan Houston, acquired 8,000 Ordinary Shares.
