("Avon") Avon Rubber signs multi million pound MoU to supply respiratory protection systems to Turkish Armed Forces Avon Rubber p.l.c. has signed a Memorandum of Understanding ("MoU") with MKEK, aleading Turkish defence systems manufacturer, and ETIRC, a Turkish defence andsecurity solutions company. Under the MoU, signed at this week's Defence Systems & Equipment Internationalexhibition ("DSEi"), the three partners will work together on a multi-millionpound project to provide personal respiratory protection technologies to theTurkish Armed Forces. The agreement allows for provision of a wide range of Avon's unique protectiontechnologies to Turkey. This will involve manufacture in Turkey of Avonrespirators and filters for provision to the Turkish Armed Forces. Commenting on the agreement, Terry Stead, Chief Executive of Avon Rubber, said: "We are excited about this significant opportunity based on our existing FM12technology. It could lead to orders in the region of a million masks over aperiod of up to ten years, commencing within the next 18 months.
