Appointment of Independent Non-Executive Director

Auto Trader, the UK's largest digital automotive marketplace, is pleased to announce the appointment of Jasvinder Gakhal as an Independent Non-Executive Director to its Board, with effect from 1 January 2022. Jasvinder will also join the Audit, Remuneration, Corporate Responsibility and Nomination Committees.

Jasvinder is Managing Director of Motor at Direct Line Group, prior to which she held a number of roles within Direct Line including most recently Chief Strategy Officer and before that Managing Director of Direct Line for Business. Before joining Direct Line Group in 2005, Jasvinder was a maths teacher.

Following Jasvinder's appointment, the Board comprises five Independent Non-Executive Directors, three Executive Directors and a Non-Executive Chairman.

Commenting on the appointment, Ed Williams, Chairman of Auto Trader, said:

"I am delighted to welcome Jasvinder to the Board. Her range of strategic and operational experience is a valuable addition. Jasvinder's appointment is the first step in the renewal of our board, given that three Independent Non-Executive Directors are due to step down by 2024, having served three 3-year terms, starting around the time of Auto Trader's 2015 IPO."

Commenting on her appointment, Jasvinder said:
