Augean Plc17 January 2007 17th January 2007 Augean Plc ("Augean", "the Company" or the "Group") Pre-close Trading Update and Directorate Change Augean Plc, one of the UK's leading hazardous waste businesses, is pleased toupdate the market prior to going into its closed period following the full yearof trading in 2006. Results for the year ended 31st December 2006 will be in line with marketexpectations. The Board is finalising the review of its business strategy, which includes aconsideration of all the Company's assets. Shareholders will be updated as tothe results of the review as soon as it is completed. The Company has improving visibility of its business pipeline and experience ofcurrent trading and marketing, suggests that the volume of waste within theLandfill division in 2007 will be ahead of 2006. Treatment activity isincreasing against the backdrop of a tightening regulatory regime. Augean's full year results to 31 December 2006 are due to be announced in lateMarch. Directorate change Augean Plc is pleased to announce that Paul Blackler, (37) has been appointed tothe Board as Group Commercial Director. At Augean, Paul is responsible for thecommercial management of the Group's services, negotiation of key accountcontracts, asset targeting, acquisition and integration; and strategicdevelopment. Paul has been at Augean Plc since December 2004 when he took on the role ofGroup Operations Director, becoming Group Development Director in September2005. Prior to joining the Group, Paul held senior positions with Shanks GroupPlc, Castle Environmental and Mplus Recycling. Paul was educated the University of Central Lancashire and is a member of theRoyal Society of Chemistry.
