Appian Technology PLC15 October 2007 Appian Technology plc - Ticker: APN / Index: AIM/ Sector: Electronic 15 October 2007 Appian Technology plc ("Appian" or the "Company") OEM Agreement with Californian based Civica Software Appian Technology plc, the AIM-traded provider of Automatic Number PlateRecognition Systems ("ANPR") and traffic management products and solutions, hassigned its first original equipment manufacturer agreement ('OEM') with US basedCivica Software ('Civica'), its Californian based distributor. As part of theagreement, Appian has taken an equity position, with an option to increase thisshareholding at a defined price in the future. Civica is a leading global software-based solutions group focussed on developingand distributing technology products for the US Government and law enforcementagencies. Under the terms of the agreement, Civica will integrate Appian'sTalonSPTM recognition engine into its proprietary hardware and software system,PlateScanTM, to create a superior product that enables customers to proactivelyidentify vehicles of interest during routine patrols. The new integrated systemis already generating considerable interest, with the first sale recentlyagreed.
