Appian Technology PLC18 February 2008 Appian Technology plc / Ticker: APN / Market: AIM / Sector: Technology 18 February 2008 Appian Technology plc ('Appian' or 'the Company') Wins £350,000 contracts for ANPR security systems Appian Technology plc, the AIM listed provider of Automatic Number PlateRecognition systems ('ANPR') and traffic management products and solutions, haswon two contracts totalling £350,000 to supply ANPR technology to a UK militarybase and a prestigious Middle Eastern hotel. The first contract for £165,000 involves the installation of Appian's ANPRaccess control technology at the entrance points to one of the largest UKmilitary bases in the south of England. This is Appian's second contract fromthis customer. The system, which will comprise of Appian's Cobra ANPR camerasand Talon ANPR recognition software, will be used to monitor and control allincoming and outgoing traffic to the base and will be connected to externaldatabases allowing real time checking of plate reads. The second contract for £185,000 is for the supply of a sophisticated ANPRaccess control system for a hotel, which is part of a large Middle Eastern hotelgroup. This is Appian's second order from this customer and three further ordersfor additional hotels are expected in the next six months. The system will beused to assist in security and surveillance and will have the unique capabilityof reading multiple number plate formats found in the region.
