Appian Technology PLC26 February 2007 Appian Technology plc - Ticker: APN / Index: AIM/ Sector: Electronic 26th February 2007 Appian Technology Plc ('Appian' or 'the Company') Further Orders from UK Police Forces Appian Technology plc, the AIM listed provider of Automatic Number PlateRecognition systems ('ANPR') and traffic management products, has signed two neworders totalling £377,000. Appian is to provide fixed-site CCTV based ANPRsystems to a UK police force in the south west of England and to equip anational police force with its mobile ANPR systems. The fixed-site ANPR order, valued at £212,000, is phase three of a contract,which began in August 2005 and has proved very successful in reducing crimelevels and 'driving criminals off the road'. Appian has performed well in theCCTV market, where it can superimpose and bolt on its ANPR technology intoexisting CCTV systems. Appian expects the final phase of this contract to beagreed in the near future. The mobile ANPR order, valued at £165,000, is for 13 mobile ANPR systems to anexisting customer, a national policing agency responsible for the UK's nuclearinfrastructure security. The systems will be installed into vehicles to use formobile ANPR patrolling.
