Contract Wins from Major UK Retailer and Major UK Transport Infrastructure Company
Advanced Power Components plc (AIM: APC) is pleased to announce that its subsidiary, Minimise Limited ("Minimise"), has received a further order from a major UK retailer valued at up to £2.8 million, for the supply of energy efficient LED lights for installation in back of house areas at a number of stores across the UK. This contract is in addition to previously announced contracts, totalling £6.1m, and extends the planned delivery schedule to this customer into APC's new financial year commencing 1 September 2013, although the timing of deliveries between this financial year and next has yet to be determined.
Additionally, Minimise is pleased to announce that it has received orders from a major UK transport infrastructure company for energy efficient LED lighting and for remote monitoring systems. While it is unlikely that each individual order from this new customer will be on the scale experienced from the major UK retailer, the Board believes that these initial contract wins are significant in terms of securing a relationship with another substantial customer and believes that Minimise is well positioned to win further orders for both of these technologies in the near future.
Mark Robinson, CEO of APC, commented:
"This new order is further validation of the quality of both the product and service provided by Minimise, which has not gone un-noticed in the retail sector.
"In addition, the contracts received for LED lighting and monitoring technologies from the major UK transport infrastructure company are particularly pleasing as they offer the potential for growth in a new and significant market sector.
"These new contracts come as a result of Minimise's expertise across the Company's two core technology areas; low energy LED lighting and monitoring & control systems."
