ANGLO PLATINUM LIMITED - CHANGE TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS 

In compliance with Section 3.59 of the Listing Requirements, notification is hereby given that:-

Anglo American plc announced that Mr Tshamano Mohau Frederik Phaswana, a non-executive director, has requested to step down from the Board of Anglo American plc in order to take up his new role as Chairman of the Standard Bank Group in due course. Mr Phaswana will continue to serve on the Board of Anglo American plc until 1 January 2010.

Mr T M F Phaswana will remain as Chairman of Anglo Platinum, but has indicated his intention to step down from this position in due course.
