New website launched

Agronomics Limited ("Agronomics" LSE: ANIC) has launched a new website - www.agronomics.im. Agronomics is currently the only publicly listed investment vehicle focused specifically in the emerging area of cultured meat and alternative proteins. The new website will support the development of Agronomics' profile in its mission to become a prominent player in this exciting and rapidly growing sector.

Global demand for protein is increasing, as a consequence of increased population growth and shifted lifestyle choices towards high protein diets. The United Nations predicts the world population will grow from the current 7.7 billion to 9.7 billion by 2050. Current food supply systems are unsustainable as a recent Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change ("IPCC") report suggests. According to the IPCC, agriculture is a major greenhouse gas contributor; contributing 23% of global emissions globally with forestry. With this, vast amounts of water, land and energy are required for the cultivation of crops as well as for transportation along the meat supply chain. 

There is a growing concern towards animal welfare, the overuse of fertilizers and antibiotics in current food systems that are having an inherent effect upon both animal and human health. In conjunction - global seafood consumption has more than doubled in the past 50 years and continues to grow, which has raised issues about unsustainable fishing practices leading to a depletion in fish stocks. Bioaccumulation, toxin contamination and microplastics have all been featured as new issues the industry faces tackling to ensure seafood remains a healthy option for consumers. 

The new website contains all information as required per AIM Rule 26, including the investing policy, constitutional documents, financial reports and biographies of the board of directors. The website will be updated on a regular basis and will feature the growing portfolio.
