Governmental Approvals For Further Exploration At Kun-Manie

Amur Minerals Corporation (AIM: AMC) is pleased to announce that it has successfully completed two additional exploration filings related to its Kun-Manie nickel copper sulphide project located in the Russian Far East. These filings and their subsequent approvals are required by Russian Federation authorities to allow the Company to continue its exploration for nickel while simultaneously pursuing a production decision. Filings include the following:

Annual exploration reviews on Kun-Manie are required to ensure that Amur has met its exploration obligations according to the terms of the exploration licence. The final report for the 2008 programme was submitted to Amurnedra, the local licensing agency, along with the appropriate Russian Federation expert opinions. The report has been approved, confirming that Amur has successfully met its historical exploration commitments for the past five years which was the timeframe allotted for the original exploration licence.

Amur was granted a two year extension on the exploration licence in December 2008 and as part of the approval of the two year extension, a two year exploration programme was submitted by Amur and approved by the authorities. The plan and approvals by the state experts are now filed with Amurnedra.

These approvals are specific to the exploration rights that Amur holds on the 950 square kilometre licence area. The filings and approvals are an important next step. These allow Amur the right and time to explore and discover additional deposits within the licence area and to continue exploration in areas where the effort has been too limited to define resource and reserves. In this case, the filings underpin Amur's ability to continue working in the areas adjacent to the Ikenskoe and Maly Krumkon deposits where the extent of the nickel mineralisation has not been fully delineated. In addition, reconnaissance work, scout drilling and trenching have identified the next generation of drill targets known as Falcon, Kubuk, Yan Hegd and Chorney Ispelene. Successful drilling would add to the reserves presently recorded on the State Committee on Reserves (GKZ).

Robin Young, Amur's Chief Executive Officer, commented:

This has allowed us to further advance our flagship project at Kun-Manie. These approvals provide the Company with the opportunity to increase resources and to discover new deposits within a highly target rich environment. Much of the area remains unexplored.

This work will be conducted simultaneously to our application for a mining licence which is now on a fast track as a result of our recent award of the Certificate of Discovery in April."
