Changes to the Board

Altyn plc ("Altyn" or the "Company"), is pleased to announce the appointment of Vladimir Shkolnik as a Non-Executive Director effective immediately.

His appointment is seen as strategically important to the growth of the Company not only in Kazakhstan but for the future growth plans of the Company internationally. He will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Company. He is internationally recognised participating in meetings at the highest level and has been recognised academically in the areas of energy and natural resources. With his extensive network of connections in Kazakhstan he is seen as particularly important in developing the assets currently held by the Company in Kazakhstan.

He has held a number of high profile positions in the Kazakhstan government, and is currently advising the Kazakhstan government on industrial and energy matters.

His previous positions include the office of Minister of Energy a position he held until 2016, Minister of Trade and Industry a position he held from 2008, in 2007 he was appointed Deputy Head of Presidential Administration, reporting directly to the President on economic, financial, energy and industrial matters.

He is an academic with a doctorate in physics and has written a number of papers and books in the field of energy, and natural resources, and other scientific fields. He has been influential in setting up academic institutions, in the areas of mineral processing, nuclear power in Kazakhsthan. As part of this process he created a number of joint enterprises with leading companies in Japan, France and Russia in the area of nuclear power and the processing of rare metals.

Vladimir Shkolnik, has spent the majority of his time in the last five years in government roles. However during the period from 2009 to 2014 he acted as a Non-Executive Director in JSC National Atomic Company 'Kazatomprom' in Kazakhstan.

Concurrently Neil Herbert has stepped down from his role as Executive Deputy Chairman to that of a Non-Executive Director.
