Alba Mineral Resources PLC31 August 2006 Alba Mineral Resources plc ("Alba" or the "Company") Directorate Appointments Alba Mineral Resources plc announces the appointments of Michael Nott asExecutive Group Managing Director and Dr. C. Jay Hodgson as a Non-ExecutiveDirector to the Board with effect from 1 September 2006. Michael Charles Nott, age 57, brings 36 years of experience in mineralexploration and mining to the Managing Director's role. Mr. Nott began hiscareer as an exploration and mining geologist, moving into the management ofaggregate quarrying operations and then to senior roles in the aggregate andindustrial mineral sector. Mr. Nott is currently CEO of Magyar Mining Plc andprevious positions have included periods with ARC Southern Ltd, Hills AggregatesLtd, as Director and General Manager, and Roan Consolidated Mines Ltd, asExploration and Senior Mining Geologist. Dr. Charles Jay Hodgson, age 70, is a research and exploration geologist withover 40 years experience in base metal and precious metals exploration. Between1996 and 2006, Dr. Hodgson was Chief Geologist at Barrick Gold Corporation wherehe was involved in the design and execution of Barrick's worldwide explorationprogrammes and maintaining Barrick's technical edge in the gold explorationbusiness. He is a graduate of McGill University, Canada, and gained a PhD fromthe University of California at Berkeley. Dr. Hodgson was Professor of EconomicGeology at Queen's University, Canada, from 1973 to 1996. With the appointment of Mr. Nott as Managing Director, Mr. Wilson Robb,currently acting Managing Director, will revert to his position of GroupExploration Director.
