DIRECTORATE CHANGES

Further to the announcement on 5 September 2018, AIB Group plc (the "Company") announces that Mr Mark Bourke's resignation from the roles of Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer ("CFO") is effective from 1 March 2019.

The regulatory assessment processes relating to the proposed appointments of Dr Colin Hunt to the role of Chief Executive Officer and the selected successor to the CFO role respectively are progressing well and are expected to finalise shortly. We look forward to notifying the market of the outcome of those processes at the earliest opportunity.

In addition, Mr Simon Ball, a long-serving Independent Non-Executive Director, who would have reached his nine year term on the Board during 2020, has noted his intention not to stand for re-election at this year's AGM.

Richard Pym, Chairman of the Company, said: "We look forward to the conclusion of the active regulatory assessment processes and thank Bernard, Colin and the wider executive team for their leadership in the intervening period. As previously noted, we are grateful to Mark for his significant contribution to the Group during his time as CFO and wish him well in his new venture. It is with regret that we are losing Simon in April this year, earlier than planned: he has played a crucial role on the AIB Board for nearly 8 years and, on behalf of the Board, I would like to thank him sincerely for the meaningful contribution he has made to the Group during his tenure. We have been very focused on our Board succession plan in the last year or so, preparing for a number of planned retirements and you will hear more from us when the requisite regulatory assessment processes have concluded."

The announcement is made in accordance with Rule 6.6.5 of Euronext Dublin's Listing Rules and Rule 9.6.11 of the London Stock Exchange's Listing Rules.
