DIRECTORATE CHANGE
AIB Group plc and Allied Irish Banks, p.l.c. (together the "Group" or "AIB") advise that Mr Tom Foley, who has served as an independent non-executive Director of the Group since September 2012 has today indicated that he wishes to retire and will not be putting himself forward for re-election at the forthcoming Annual General Meeting of the Group. Accordingly, Mr Foley will hold office until the conclusion of the 2020 Annual General Meeting, scheduled for 29 April 2020.
The Deputy Chairman, Mr Brendan McDonagh, paid tribute to Mr Foley, saying: "over a period of close to eight years, Tom Foley has served the Group and the Board with distinction. He served at a difficult time for the bank and for the economy. The Board benefited greatly over this period from his financial services industry and general commercial experience together with his calm demeanour and thoughtful consideration of the issues. I want to record the Board's and the Group's sincerest thanks to Tom and to wish him the very best in the future."
This announcement is made in accordance with the Euronext Listing Rule 6.1.64 and UK Listing Rule 9.6.11.
