Board Changes

Applied Graphene Materials, the producer of specialty graphene materials, is pleased to announce that it intends to appoint Dr. Hugh Adrian Potts (Adrian), aged 57, to the Board as the Group's new Chief Executive Officer, following the announcement earlier in the year of the retirement of current CEO Jon Mabbitt.

Adrian has been Vice President for Business Development at AGM since January 2015. In this role he was responsible for leading the company's business development strategy in the U.S. Adrian previously worked at Cytec Process Materials in roles including Global Business Development Director, President of Cytec Process Materials, CA Inc. and President of Umeco Structural Materials Inc.

In addition, the Board announces that Gareth Jones, Chief Financial Officer, has given notice of his resignation. The Board's recruitment process to appoint a successor will commence immediately and an announcement will follow in due course. Gareth will remain with the Company beyond the announcement of AGM's annual results to ensure a smooth handover to his successor.

A further announcement will be made on commencement of Adrian Pott's appointment setting out the additional required disclosures pursuant to Rule 17 and Schedule 2 (g) of the AIM Rules for Companies.

Applied Graphene Materials was founded by Professor Karl Coleman in 2010 with its operations and processes based on technology that he initially developed at Durham University. The Group is based at the Wilton Site on Teesside and was admitted to AIM in November 2013.

The Group has developed proprietary bottom-up processes which are capable of producing high purity graphene nanoplatelets using a continuous process. The manufacturing processes are based on sustainable, readily available raw materials and therefore do not rely on the supply of graphite, unlike a number of other graphene production techniques. Applied Graphene Materials owns the intellectual property and know-how behind these processes.
