BOARD CHANGES
The Board of Aminex today announces that Mr Brian Hall has elected to retire from his role as Executive Chairman of the Company at the end of the year. Mr Hall will continue to serve the Company as a Non-Executive Chairman until an independent Chairman is appointed.
Concurrently, the Board announces that Mr Didier Murcia, Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer of the Company has elected to resign his posts at the end of this year. He will remain as a special advisor to the Board on legal matters and government relations.
The transition is part of a succession plan established by the Board early this year that included the hiring of Mr Stuard Detmer as Chief Executive Officer in October.
Commenting on the announcement, Aminex CEO, Stuard Detmer, said: "Brian Hall created Aminex in its present form. Following a first mover strategy, he led the Company to a successful venture in Russia and then to Tanzania where he secured the highly prospective exploration acreage that is the core of the Company's African portfolio. Didier Murcia was likewise instrumental in establishing the Company's position in Tanzania through his strong working relationships with the Tanzanian government. I'm very pleased that the Company will continue to benefit from Brian and Didier's experience and expertise in their new roles."
