You have the wrong end of the stick......look..there is no love lost between cgp and solg, we all know that. CGP are quite happy to torpedo solg and watch the boss fall from grace. As much as I am not keen on NM, he is a much better bet than CGP running the show - ever could be.
BUT, what I am really reverting to is this......if/when CGP lose their bet that NM is outed this thursday, their threat of an EGM is gone...for good.
There is then a clear and uninterrupted path to watching CGP wither on the vine as we all head towards the construction of the mine and solg comes asking cgp to cough up the cash.
This will be the demise of CGP thankfully and the end for Irwin and Co who have always been gunning for NM.
[I fully appreciate the bit about 'us' being partners in cascabel - but I was not on about that].

Hawkspear: NCM and BHP own around 13.6% each of Solg. NCM will not sell their lot because it will come good eventually. What they won't do either is attempt further involvement because they have already been pi**ed off by NM.
It is plain as day that NCM are zeroing in on GGP for the foreseeable!

Bablake - welcome onboard. Good to hear from you.
You will do well here with GGP, however (and I am sure you won't need reminding), the stock is spikey occasionally and wonders don't happen overnight either. Time is as important as your money, so dig in for the ride but wrt your stake, I would suggest this time next year might be a time to look back and say 'yes' you made a great decision.
Meanwhile, we are about to embark tomorrow on a very hairy ride (if September is anything to go by) as we experience tranche2 of the GDXJ ETF rerating.

Yes, Solg is so frustrating. We know that NM is in cloud cuckoo land if he thinks he can go this alone. Apart from the technical reasons why a minnow can't 'mutate' from scratch without a major onboard, there is the small issue that Major's won't allow it to happen!
So they buy them off or JV with them and eventually manage them (as per our latest JV with NCM where they confirm they will manage the project idc).
I think Paddy is the closest to what will evolve, imo - NCM will hold GGP's hand and supervise them. NCM will run and resolve the technical issues. This is the beauty of a JV.
However - I do feel that there could come a time (if all the stars align for GH - scally/rudall/etc) when NCM 'might' consider buying the whole shooting match @Hav (only) and GGP looks favourably on this. I don't think we should discard the option completely but I do hear loud and clear that a majority here think this is folly. So be it.
From my experience @ Solg - I pray and hope that GGP do not decide to go it alone.....
Time is far more important than money!
