The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
Auradine are partly owned by Marathon, they are one of the very few new manufacturer's out there in the US but frankly Mara and Auradine will simply buy QBT for cheap if indeed QBT have anything worthwhile, so it is certainly possible QBT are genuinely working with someone in the US.
My problem is we have had years of promises and no product, years of rampers coming on the telegram groups I frequent ramping just before a raise. I do not trust this company, they need to show me what they have and get serious partners. Everything is so vague and so much money has been raised by this company and yet we have nothing other than words.
Seems sensible to say May instead of will, there is a chance someone will find a work around.
The bottom line is Bitmain are unhappy with others flashing their own firmware onto their hardware. Clearly Bitmain want to stop it or generate revenue from licensing the right to do it.
Naturally miners with 100000 miners won't flash their hardware in a hurry without extensive performance testing and this is why Mara and cleanspark are unaffected.
However it is likely brand new machines will have this stock firmware and it's those machines QBT's software will need to work with rather than this current generation of machines, why? Because QBT have nothing working yet and when they do it will need installing on machines that may well be firmware locked.
So funny watching rampers squirm.
Getting confirmation from other firmware guys like brains as well. Bitmain are huge at best they now need paying a cut by QBT and at worst the largest ASIC manufacturer just ruined QBT.
It's a perfect excuse to have to raise again to pivot and produce QBT'S own ASIC chips. Big problems for QBT no matter what.
Please note that Bitmain's latest stock firmware update may block usage of third-party ASIC firmwares, including MARAFW, from March 2024 onwards.
This was posted on marathon digitals twitter feed tonight.
It's no surprise that all the bulls dismissed the link I shared and are doing everything they can to bury the news. For years now we have been seeing on telegram QBT ramps, nobody believes them anymore thankfully but this new info albeit anecdotal simply confirms my belief that the company has nothing significant. Virtually all of the miners are experimenting with firmware of their own now, Mara released something last week. Until QBT stick a working miner with their own software or hardware on a table and have it tested as legit nothing will change my mind.

"A UK based tech company with big funding claiming to have countless bitcoin mining performance improvements approached me for driver code. After perusing their website claims and (lack of reproducible) achievements to date I told them their claims were bogus and to leave me alone"
I did some research and it seems this twitter handle belongs to Con Kolivas [LINK REMOVED]
The company sounds very much like QBT to me. As it turns out it seems Bitmain stole his code written under license but as the company are chinese he hasn't tried to sue them for obvious reasons. This makes sense if QBT need to get insight into Bitmain machines, driver code, pool and how things work you would seek to contact and work with people like this. The fact they seem so far behind in the development here is a bit surprising to me and a huge blow for such a prominent developer to call it all a scam.
