What just happened? This showed up on a scan for unusual volumes, massive and at full price, often indicates a future price increase as overhand taken out.

Such a large multiple of the usual daily average it screams out.

Read it CAREFULLY.

The RNS says “up to” for FY2026 and an “intention” for FY2027.

See "intend" used too.

There are no guarantees so a very carefully worded announcement they can go back on if they have to for an acquisition or some other reason.

With hindsight it was a perfect time to use a 10-15% trailing stop-loss to lock-in profits.

As April apprroaches I'm expecting more sellers to come along before any recovery = even more price weakness.

Reads as if they have hit problems with 73p.

What would it fall back to if no firm offer occurs?

Peel Hunt target is 100%+ upside but I don't rate PH snd think they are wrong. The BoD must do too else they would be buying for an easy 100% upside.

G_G_G, my sympathies. Been there done that elsewhere. The risks are asymmetric as management always come out having at least taken a salary and pension contributions. Who knows if family members get inside info too that benefits them.

I also think Kestrel are a cause. They have clout here but don't agitate enough for change. Never really understood why they are happy with the status quo. Time to close this chapter and call it a day.

Doubt it will make a difference but there is a chance to LTIP awards (that vest immediately on the take-over) impact the final price negatively.

They are on the hook for the care homes that have been struggling. Close to a move from funding it to running it as majority equity holder. Frightening for a credit provider and I think that has pushed some people to sell as they find themselves owning a company they didn't expect it to morph into. Great if it all works out well but now holding the baby and no guarantee it will work out well. Risk profile has shifted. Just my opinion after reading up on it and DYOR.

There is no lack of poor management elsewhere but this bunch take the biscuit for own goals. How the CEO has survived is a mystery.
