I have 70,000.
Hadn't most of us current shareholders either already lost up to 90+% of our investment before Fridays news or lost a huge amount of any profits made for those "lucky" enough to have bought shares in the early days.Losing 53% of the pittance I had left didn't ruffle me - overall my investments went up on Friday because this is the only joke company I put money into.As the saying goes I sincerely hope nobody invested more than they could afford to lose.Live and learn.
Spadesaspade - now that is a post worth reading!
.... I was c.400% and 16 grand up on GGP.Wish all my investments performed as badly lol !
...to the top posters on a top board.Delighted with my profit this year - not sold owt (a bit of festive Yorkshire slang) - am looking forward to next years rocket ride.Almost as delighted that we have a deal - what a grind it's been! Stay safe and stay strong everyone.Merry Christmas.
It's not that long ago that I read that SXX (into which I'd put a lot of money) were mothballing development of the site then the bid came in which the board recommended. It meant all hope was lost and losses were essentially written in stone.I'd not thrown the kitchen sink in but did lose about £60K.Now here I am - I can't remember how I got into GGP - probably flagged up on other share chat boards often enough to make me sit up and take notice - I did a bit of research and started reading this board.Strangely enough some of my investments have been influenced by past events in my life - as a younger man I was in W.A. and drank in some of those bars e.g. around Mount Magnet full of gold miners, wild women and song! Anyway,I just wanted to say thank-you to our top class posters - names not needed - I'm slowly pulling things round thanks to my investment here (already 20 grand up) as much as anywhere. My wife and daughter went shopping with my credit card yesterday and I couldn't care less how much they spent - wouldn't have said that a year ago! Have a great christmas all of you.
I used to look forward to JonesRichards' maniacal ramping on the Sirus BB.God knows we needed the mood lightening, especially towards the end and he never failed.Barking!
Absolutely right.A lot of people confuse life expectancy with the expectation of being able to live your life as you want to.I don't think many of us will be able to do that in our eighties.I've always worked on a cut-off of 75.I think 30 grand a year is enough for most of us - pays all the bills, leaves plenty for nice hols etc and for any emergencies.Take your age off 75,mutiply the figure by 30,000 minus your state pension (if you've paid NIC all your life that could be 10 grand a year at least) and that gives you your required pot.Kids will get a cut of your property and anything else that's left.I think a lo of people work too long - a golden year in your sixties/seventies is worth 5 your eighties methinks!
God Bless Les Dawson!
I don't know you sir but always read your posts which are both informative and positive.I'm sad to hear your news but don't give up hope.
We've been treated with contempt for a long time, why change now - the board will have champagne to drink and cigars to smoke rather than letting us know the result before tomorrow morning.
Yes/No?? I can't wait too much longer as I have a job interview at 2 - as it stands I ve lost 60 grand.I retired 2 years ago. Before you no-marks start,it is about 20% of my pot so not life-changing but what with my daughter's wedding (scheduled) and a land purchase (unscheduled) the SXX loss has tipped me back into employment(hopefully). Oh,and I won't be sat on my backside shuffling papers - factory jobs don't allow that.
I have taken the survey.I hold about 220,000 shares and will be voting NO!
I'm no expert but I think it describes the situation where the market makers deliberately try to lower the share price to panic people into selling.Long term holdings are the apples on the tree.No negative news today so ignore and filter the ******s.
I must be less tolerant because I've got 75 of them filtered. My record of consecutive green filter "bars" is 7.I have filtered blatant rampers before. You wouldn't think it would be such a challenge to read a share chat board would you.
Clearly!
? Aren't we all a fraction of the age of some people here.
Isn't he your favourite poster.100% positive and 110% barking.More of the same please sir.
Totally agree. You only lose when you sell.Of c.75K invested my shares are worth about 10K now.Even a 10% drop today would be "just another" grand gone.I'm not belittling the amount but for me it's got to be worth that one last punt to see if this guy can do the business.
I've got £75 grand invested in Sirius at an average of 30p so no calculators needed to work out I'm under! But guess what - I haven't lost a penny yet. Some of you need to man/woman up.It's a lovely day up here and life is good.No intention of selling a single share.I either lose the lot or sell at a profit - time will tell but please stop the hysterics - you're curdling my coffee!
