Petroleuminvest - I noticed that as well and scratched my head over it. I think the answer is that this is an old presentation (2015), before we had the independent Moyes report done in 2017. Moyes’s In-depth analysis must have considered all the proximity data and still came to uplifting conclusions.
Interestking - I'm afraid I have just one problem with your 03:28 post: will the Ocean Club be good enough?! After all, we LTHs will hopefully be in a different social strata by then and I want to live in the style to which I hope to become accustomed, ha ha!!! You must advise!
Let's get the insurance nailed - which is I think the thing that was next on the original roadmap - and then we really are well and truly off to the races.
I loved Eytan's confident iinterview the other day where he smiles and opens with "We're back!" and ends with "It's going to take more than a pandemic to stop us!. Lovely.
Jupiternmars - thanks for the video link: great interview today on back of great RNS this morning. All still to play for.
PetroleumInvest - congrats on your 21/05 13:19 post because in it you answered a query which I have raised a couple of times previously on this board i.e. how the offshore business is practically dealing with Covid. Thanks very much for that and please do continue to post as your eye-witness opinion is good to us non-oilies here. I say non-oilies meaning those of us who do not actually work in the industry, although, after years of investing/gambling in oil stocks - as you clearly have - many of us here probably feel we should be given honorary or non-exec board positions.
Ignore any rude posters: I don't get the chance to post often either and always try to be polite when I do, but even I got it in the neck from a sensitive soul who took offence to a word I had used and got LSE to take down my post! Good luck on your current project.
Linton78 / Laallee - wasn’t there also a feeling among the audience at the last presentation (though again not in any way confirmed by BPC) that the ‘exclusive’ company had in effect been trying to waste time by winding down our licences? In that case, the presumption that it was the major who had pulled out of the exclusivity arrangement was not true: rather it was BPC who realised they were being had and decided to call time. You can see why BP would have thought we would be a push-over: SP had worked for them for 20 years. Oh well, in the absence of definite evidence, this is all conjecture and to a large degree irrelevant, other than to show that a true major really was interested.
Spiritefan - my mistake. Apols PoC: I read too quickly. Nevertheless all food for thought.
PoC - good research. So can we assume that the West Saturn is potentially available to another hirer (e.g. us) from now until July 2021, and that the Noble Sam Croft could also possibly be available (provided that Apache don’t extend their contract)? Either way I wish we could get some concrete news from BPC.
PoC - my crystal ball seems to need polishing at the mo, but I am happy to borrow Gatto's and, Yes, I see a picture forming of a star rising above a drillship in October - and it has our name all over it!
Glancing at yesterday's Tribune headlines, it seems the phased reopening in the Bahamas is proceeding. I see a union leader says the Bahamas needs 'divine intervention' to counter the economic fall-out of COVID, to which I say no need for the Divine, just give us a drill! In the US, Louisiana (important to us re Fourchon) and Miami easing their lockdowns so, hopefully, the end of May - and certainly June - should see BPC being let off the leash.
I think we all agree that the BG need this drill (and for it to be successful) more than ever - and as quickly as possible.
No, not 2021, 2020! “Carnival inundated with bookings after announcing August departures”. With regard to the US election, today’s headline “Obama PANICS, as his central role in Russiagate hoax is revealed” shows that the Democrats still have much work to do, notwithstanding their star (?) Biden being race leader. So my money is still on Trump, BWTFDIK.
PoC - TVM. Yes, indeed, I agree, this does offer an opportunity to BPC which I hope that, as we speak, they are at least mulling over (if not signing up). All majors need to continue pursuing exploration, but in the current climate a scaling back of costs is imperative. So - using pure conjecture of course - we can assume that BPC has a communication line open to Exxon who are, no doubt, aware of our potential treasure chest. Unlike some other occasional posters I do not see BPC as the little guy susceptible to being shoved around, rather I think it could be a win-win situation for BPC and a major (hopefully E or Chevron). You are right that Guyana was a game-changer and raises all sorts of opportunities.
Oh well, I see that US cruise liners are now inundated with bookings for August vacations: clearly they see the stasis clearing by then, so hopefully the same will apply to other maritime industries. Bring on the October drilling!
PoC - glad to see you back: your input to this board has been missed! Interesting to see that your tea leaves still show Exxon in our sphere: is that simply because of the West Saturn situation?
Rocket13 - do keep up the price optimism. It cheers me up!
P-I - I too would not trust any of the current governments to run a bath, let alone a country.
Oilbaron1 - Thanks for re-posting that video link: it really is one of the most unsettling things I have seen during this crisis. The virus is real (and potentially life-threatening for some), but anyone who doubts that our government's response has been anything less than a vicious direct psychological attack on the UK population should watch ukcolumn (link below). The view is that our leaders are taking the opportunity to repurpose government and reinvent society and to use the media and the military to make people fearful. The modelling on which all this house arrest was based has now been debunked as hobby-level nonsense and the Government is clearly lying about the covid statistics to create an agenda of fear. Any opposition? The Government's own instruction is to run over them, undermine them, discredit them..... . Utterly totalitarian. We are are now a military-supported dictatorship. Rant over.
Let's hope we soon get positive news about BPC to lift our spirits! A joint venture involving BPC (as operator, natch), Chevron and Exxon should do the trick nicely! Otherwise, anything which categorically confirms we are drilling in October - with or without friends - would do. Good luck all!

?Hallowed - very interesting post: confirms everything most of us knew or suspected about the EU machinations.
Separately, your comment that it is crazy so many can be manipulated and not question things is particularly pertinent in the current crisis. The short video at the bottom of this link is one of the most striking things I have seen recently.
recently.

Shellfishfarmer - excellent spot. Bodes well for BPC on many points and particularly interesting that Chevron are now looking to invest in offshore (and even better that we are in fairly shallow waters).
No, Michael, what we BPC investors have learned over the years is Perseverance!
Linton78 - thanks a mill for posting that link to what is an absolutely fascinating article. As I was reading the piece I thought any minute now TW is going to be up in arms about it - and that has now happened (I know someone who subscribes to his circular). If the contents of the article are true (and they seem well-researched), it would certainly go a long way to explaining injuries which were inflicted out of the blue on BPC last year.
I hope BPC do manage to drill successfully this year because, if compulsory vaccination is imposed, I shall be one if the dissidents who will refuse and so no doubt be jailed or shot in the head.
Is Covid: a false flag? You decide:

Linton78 - good spot. I wondered how long it would take before the protestors started trying to use the lock-down to continue banging their drum. The simple fact is that the Bahamas, when out of lock-down, can choose to remain financially up the creek forever, or whether they want to take this one chance they have of potentially becoming very rich. It is a binary, but, if you were the BG PM what would you do? No discussion.
Interestking - agreed, as always. No need to apologise for ranting: the current climate (and I’m not talking ‘global warming’) is frustrating for us all.
Find me - agreed: channels 57 and 91 (PBS) show some very good stuff (though not today!)
As said before, I get my daily news online from Breitbart Europe and weekly opinion from The Spectator (which I suppose gives a clue to my leaning), as the main stream media both here and the US now totally untrustworthy (eg bbc here and cnn there).
Good luck to all in BPC: let’s just hope we all see it through to The Other Side idc.
N.B. Interesting piece from The Speccie which makes you think:
