Good morning,There is no need to worry about the statement made three weeks ago. The government lacks both the funding and the expertise to execute these projects. Furthermore, genuine companies like CMET will not be negatively affected by this policy. In fact, it will benefit us, as it will eliminate rogue operators and open up more opportunities for our business.All is well! 👍

I just heard a very promising speech from the deputy minister. He explained that because of current issues like energy, the government now realizes we can't jump straight into value-added production. Instead, they want to partner with investors ready to join the process.This is exactly what Gregory said—we want to move into value-added production after a couple of years of normal operations.

This is the only approval we are waiting for now. Hopefully, we get the green light very soon and can start the rest of the work for production.We’re almost there. Good luck! 🤞

Very reassuring, local partners on board and around 13 people working in the site. Local partners owns nearly 30% and they will not invest millions for the project if they are not sure.

GSBM getting advice from CMET form their frame work is another very positive indication.

I think there is one little thing to resolve. The new mineral policy promotes value addition and export rather than exporting raw materials. I remember Greg mentioning that CMET wants to do the same, but they need permission to export without value addition for at least 12 months. This would allow us to secure enough funds to upgrade our equipment for local processing. Hopefully, with local investors on board, we can get the permission to do this.

There was a tv interview with the minister last week and he has confirmed that the miniral policy is in the final stage and will get the cabinet approval before end of March 2026. He also confirmed that the new licences will be issued only after the new policy. Yes , this will be resulted in a slight delay but this will give a proper base and confidence for companies to do business without any political interferences .

Further to this, all the shares belongs to Shefield bought by the Sri Lankan investors and I'm pretty sure Sri Lankan will not invest millions of $ without doing any due diligence.
