The overall market is having a shocker today (and the last few days to be fair). My portfolio is down 5 figures today which hurts given it was flying a couple weeks ago. Just need to remember I'm in it for the long haul.

What the hell, may as well continue my averaging down shtick. Just picked up another 2000 shares or so at 1.307. Time will tell whether i've been playing catch the knife the last week or two or sensibly averaging down.

Just placed a 10k limit buy at 179.99 to try and take advantage of the dip the last couple of days. Now I'm in that weird state of mind whereby as a very very LTH I want the price to start going up again, but also part of me wouldn't mind if it dipped a little further to further lower my longterm average. To be an investor hey.

I should add in the interests of balance that my other very significant long term clanger - Nanoco - finally gave up the ghost yesterday which was painful. So there is definitely some karma going round the last couple days!

It's been a slog guys. c95% losses on a not inconsiderable sum for 3-4 years. Stubborn man that I am, I held the faith, averaged down and I'm now within a whisker of red turning to black. Well done to all of you that have already made decent profits in recent weeks. I'm happy for now that ITM has escaped the XBB2008 Clangers (to steal a term from Mr Cowie). If we can get back to the >£4 that i originally invested at i will be a very happy bunny.

LimitedFunds - i'm in the same boat with PCT. It's hit the ball out the park in my portfolio in recent years. Today it has just crept above a 200% profit. But this and my broader Vanguard S&P500 investment (itself 167% up as of today) are massively skewing my overall ISA portfolio. I took a fair chunk of profits on PCT last Oct when the price was around 442p, but boy do I wish I held my nerve. I'm the exact same boat now - do I cash some in or try to keep riding the wave. At some point the euphoria over AI investment and the mag seven is bound to stop - guessing when is the tricky part!

Just placed a limit order for another £10k at 147.8p. I never learn my lessons with these single-stock investments/gambles. I did the exact same thing of averaging down in big chunks over the years with Nanoco and have ended up losing the lot (well 95%). Hopefully ITM will be the one I finally get right. Average will be below 200p if this limit order goes through.

Yep I’m doing my little bit by topping up each time it drifts back into mid 150s. If enough of us LTH with some cash on the side do this it will provide a bit of a floor for the shorters to continuously bounce up against. I’m just a little worried that I’m going to end up with concentration risk in this one share. In recent weeks it’s already increased to around 6% of my total portfolio (excluding pension pot).

An interesting inverted spread upon close today! Would love to buy at 152p and sell at 173p!!

Just bought another £7.5k at 155p - getting my average much more manageable now at 222p!

If it's any consolotion Flintwall, I've done exactly the same. Repeatedly over the years. Never seem to learn my lesson. Must always remember the old adage that you can't spend paper profits.

Agreed Far2L8 - all it takes is a better prompt, something as simple as a final instruction to ensure the summary is no longer than X words before reporting back etc. More constraints in prompts would do wonders for the quantum of slop out there!
