Weapon It’s just my opinion! You seem to think it’s a positive if the cormorant drill is a success because it strengthens our position but you don’t think think it matters if it’s a duster? I saw this in 2009-2010 when Desire Petroleum drilled dusters all the Falkland oilies reacted badly by association (even though their licence were geologically independent)! 10 milllion in the bank post drilll and a history of 4 deep water dusters in West Africa will pretty much mean that the market tears us a new one! It will almost certainly guarantee that Lazza has a one way ticket to the job center ! We don’t have to agree but you don’t have to insult !

Belisc If your scenario below happens Larry will be an absolute legend! It effectively means our share price is underpinned by cash so we have nothing to lose even if the well is a duster ! I would bite any majors hand off to have 20 million in cash and retain 25-30% of the licence !

I think if cormorant is a success we should expect a minimum of 30% increase in SP ... even though there’s independence in geology Same applies if cormorant fails (20-30% drop) ! This happens with all oilies drilling in the same area ... remember the falklands drills in 2010? All companies in the area will react

It doesn’t matter how much fluff they give out about COS, Geology, follow on potential, stratigraphic traps and seals ... I just want them to show us the money ! Farm out details is all we are interested in that this stage ! If we decide to roll the dice and go it alone , Lazza will be gambling with his job and he has a 29% chance of keeping it ! Paul Welch got sacked for a dry hole even though he managed to secure Janis for Tapir!! I’m very very interested in this call! I’ll be parking up and dialling in ;)

Confounded I totally agree and I think judging by the recent wording on RNSs they expect to make some deals! I wouldn’t be disappointed if we wait a few months though to focus on our own portfolio first! There’s enough value to be harvested from the campaigns we plan to carry out ! The reason for mentioning the volume today is that it’s a good indicator that we have some new buyers interested in the stock ! The volume is significantly higher than average ! I’m very happy with my investment here

Agreed Gooner! If he secures a farm-in and we end up with 30 million after the drill then he can’t do anymore than that! What would you call “favourable terms”?

Thunder nobody is saying pack up and go home ... We’re just cautious of the associated risks! Chariot is definitely not one for widows and orphans! On the day of the results, we could either end up higher than 40p or lower than 4p! The rewards are high for anyone willing to take a punt! Just don’t sell the family silver in the process ! Also be aware that we have one of the most inept and arrogant Oil Execs in the sector!

Growler there’s still Brazil which hasn’t been talked about of late ! So I don’t think Chariots future rests solely on Prospect S... Some feedback on Morocco might also lead to something there ! I agree though if S is dry then I think we need to get the Fark out of Namibia!

Thunder That’s a BIG risk though! If a placing happen after the drill it will happen at either multiples of today’s price or a small faction of today’s price ! I don’t think that’s a risk that our steady Eddy will be willing to take ! Imagine having to come back to the market after spending 20 odd million on a failed drill? That will be bye bye Lazza !!!

Congrats Slade ! Nice top up ! I Fully agree with you ! It’s a well run company with no debt and making healthy profits at today’s oil price ! That’s without taking into account any exploration success they may have or any acquisitions that may come into the picture ! Hopefully we see some institutions and funds buying in! Watch out for 1000,000+++ purchases! That’s a tell tale sign !

To be honest if we don’t farm out a placing isn’t a disaster as long as it is performed at the right price ! Imagine literally going to the well knowing the company will use all its cash and needs a discovery to stay alive!!! That’s a bad case scenario ! Betting on 17 black and throwing your shirt at it ! A placing means we can live to fight another day!

Yes spellbrook Overall volume looking pretty healthy! Could exceed 3.5 million shares today but can’t see any gigantic single buys ! Biggest purchase i can see is only 200,000 shares which to me seems like a Private investor’s purchase ... Most PIs would probably have more than that invested here ... specially the long term guys who have been accumulating many years ! When we see 1 million shares +++ being traded in a single transaction then you know the institutional guys and investment trusts want a piece of the pie ! Good luck all holders

You make some solid points monkeymoo! Fully agree with your analysis but to present it better you need to look at enterprise value and not market cap ! That’s the way I usually go about it anyway ... Also I wouldn’t be surprised if they start to look for other assets once these new Santos assets have bedded in to the portfolio! Production figures similar to enquest are not a million miles away IMO !
