Look at it this way - the directors are in this with us, if they fail to make the deal for whatever reason they carn't possibly sell all their shares, they have 20% of the company, & they are old enough to want a comfy life vs scraping off soil (as exciting as it would be no doubt - less so in the cold tho) to uncover their riches.

They want a pay out now, otherwise the sino deal would have been dusted off at the start of this season - its now or whenever they dig it up (next 2 yrs)

Only sold 1% yesturday for petty cash & removed it from the CGT S&S account at that.

I had to invest fresh funds into isa & sell s&s separately ,they wil take 3 days to arrive back in my account.

Which brings me to my second item re Fees.

HL charge based on porfolio size, which hasnt been a major issue for me till now - but as we expect a bonanza & I carnt touch my Sipp for 15 years or so, could turn into a problem - any recommendations for fixed fee platforms (who still offer a good range of products).

Probably already priced in when the spill occurred.

Just glad they got the bad news out of the way before we own some of their shares :)
