The important thing is to check that your broker is covered by the £85k FSCS guarantee. I would imagine all the major brokers are, I'm with IG who are covered.

My understanding of commission free trading apps is they are usually screwing you on the spread or they are using your capital for hedging, shorting, etc. I've never used one myself but if something's too good to be true it usually is.

Problem is there is no where for men to shop now and the range of products in store compared to online is laughable.

The underlying holder usually has a long term view though, or the associated fees from the shorting and interest makes up for the total wipeout perhaps.

You'd have to have a look at one of these agreements in order to know what's going on in the event of a default.
I can't see a situation where the lender just writes off the borrowed shares, even if they are worth low pennies in the pound or less. There must be a point in which the transactions closes and consideration changes hands.

I wouldn't read too much into June, it's been like December in terms of tradable days thanks to the Jubilee holiday.

I would adjust the figures by two days to make a decent comparison to this month last year.

I think the question should be how has the company paid off all that debt when despite the increase in sales and gross profit it has only increased net profit by 10%. That suggests to me like a substantial draw on the reserves from which the dividend would have been paid.

Depends if inflations keeps going up or if it settles. BOE reckon it's going to hit 11% later in the year. The next energy cap uplift is coming up. US are baking in a 0.75% increase in the FED Rate at the next round. Is all this baked in? Possibly.

Why don’t they company just call them r&d credits which many companies receive.

TFG - It’s definitely a buy at these levels. I just think there are better places to put your money in the current conditions to make a return in the short to medium term. I don’t think the bottom will be reached until later this year.

Forget the charts. The only important things here are inflation, interest rates and pending recession.

I don’t think BOO can move significantly up until these three issues are realised or resolved which will signal the bottom.

The right macro environment just isn’t there for BOO at the moment.

Debt repayments do not come off profit and loss.

Repaid debt should actually be a positive on the net result assuming interest charges are reduced.

The numbers so not make sense on the face of it unless there are massive overheads after gross profit, maybe relating to the drop in currency or a big impairment.

I’m not saying they shouldn’t claim it only that I don’t see it as a ‘non-trade’ receipt as development and therefore the accompanying tax receipt are part of trade.

So I’m not sure the receipt is the tax credit and believe the board should be clarifying. Especially if it is helping the company remain liquid.

We’ve even here before - they really need to give details on what the non-trading receipt it. I’m not so sure it’s the R&D credit - that would be part and parcel of a development company. It’s clearly not a lona or new capital so what the hell is it?

It’s nice to have non-trading cash but we really need to assess how the business stands on its own two feet.

I left HSBC a couple of years back they were truly awful. The most infuriating thing being how many shares they had restrictions over to prevent you buying.
