You can have streaming and still go out - they are not mutually exclusive. Most streaming is box sets anyway rather than actual films.

We don't really know what is being offered by either side other than there has been no offer for the whole group and no all-cash offers.

I'd suggest if some consumers are cutting back on a tenner a month for a streaming site then money is tight and they are not likely to be splashing out £20+ going to the cinema.

There's no way in the world Amazon would buy a Cinema chain, it's completely at odds with their model. The $1bn production is peanuts to them given how much they spend on streaming, music, etc. It's completely at odds with their model.

You cannot write the taking of loans off against tax, they are a balance sheet item and also the wrong way round (credit note debit)! You can write off the interest payments along with any other associated financing costs, hedges, etc.

It wouldn’t make any commercial sense, nor would the ad hoc group letting the shareholders walk away with it while they are left with a huge haircut.

That depends on who owns shares in the new company. You're assuming a share for **************. That would be awfully nice of the obligarcs. Also whether or not the shares can be sold by the Plc - probably needs UK government approval.

Then there's the question of whether the HK exchange wants Russian owned company that's been sanctioned on its exchange.

Devil - if you did any kind of due diligence before you bought you would have seen that RA was the majority holder. The UK Government had their claws in him long before VP started his war.

Yes if you are holding outside of an ISA you need to knock the dividends off your cost of investment when working out your capital gains on disposal.

So although you don't pay income tax on an annual basis on eventual disposal if you have used all your annual allowance you would have a higher capital gain.

Hi Ri - agree with a lot of that. However young people now inherit vast property wealth from granparents and parents.

So while in one hand it’s harder for them to get a leg up into the housing ladder in other cases they are literally having one land in their lap.

Every generation before them though has had the best of what is available - housing, educations, pension, health care, etc.

That’s been the case for years. I think it’s more to do with upward social mobility and the fact that in the UK a large proportion of the population who are working are earnings relatively decent money doing supervisory or middle management jobs, with immigrants doing the dirty jobs we don’t want to do.

It’s weird because sometimes I feel this cost of living crisis doesn’t match the reality. There’s near as damn it zero unemployment, vacancies are extremely hard to fill. Everytime I go to a restaurant or bowling, cinema, etc, they are very busy. The poor definitely will have got poorer that’s for sure but I think for everybody else it’s business as usual.

Hi RI - what you have posted is an unconfirmed. However if you went some facts have a look at the docket with the list of unsecured creditors and you can see quite clearly that BNY Melon are owned the money.

Perhaps sold to underlying investors?
