Fingers crossed the deal falls through.Although a piece in the Times over the weekend says the deal to be sealed on Tuesday the 5th, ie tomorrow...........
for what..............
went into my local poundland in Witney, previously a 99p store yesterday. The thing that struck me was how full the shelves were stocked.I visited about 6 shops, and poundland was by far the busiest.
Drove up to sheffield on saturday to watch the snooker. And it was quite reassuring to spot at least 6 poundland trucks pounding(excuse the pun} up and down the M1 motorway..........
I think its the first week of June, and hopefully PLND will get promoted..........
Interesting what you say.I bought a large amount back in early April,at £1.58,and i thought boy this is a steal. And ever since then they have drifted down.I just could'nt understand why.As i have said before i work for a frozen food company, and everywhere i go,customers are moving over to Booker, saying prices are good along with quality products.Patience is the only answer i can think of........
I agree,my average is £157 on these, and i dont feel concerned. As i have said in the recent past,Booker are a good solid company, and very well run.We will receive a 2.75p divi around the 11th july, plus a special divi of 3.75p afterwards.I work for a frozen food company, and i regularly hear from customers that Bookers are cheaper, and that their own brand frozen chips are exellent quality.
I just cant work it out, they have just opened two more outlets in India, bringing their total to six.I bought these shares at £1.58 and felt it was a steal. They have since dropped 20p.The only thing i can think of, is patience. The guy in charge is by all accounts a rising star, and at some stage will be poached.
great figures, full year profits up 33%,raising dividend to 2.75p per share.Good solid company...........
It seems the share price will rise tomorrow,so why is there more sells than buys today?????????????
Sorry itj june and July, and not July and August..........
They will be going ex dividend around the 12th july, and paying out again around the 12th august...
Does anyone know how long counter bidders have,to put in an increased offer for SBT.Because in my situation i could sell now and take a smallish loss, rather than wait up to 3 months for my money??????And am i right to assume that by selling now,i would still recieve my dividend in January, rather than have it included in the payoff amount.Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated.
Surprise surprise, a further extension has been granted.Till 5pm friday 21st Dec.Wish i never got envolved with this share.......
new offer on the table at 56.1p per share'SBT says they will accept this new proposal. Also deadline extended til Dec 18th.(day b4 we go ex dividend).
WMH/GVC are to be given more time in their bid to aquire SBT.The article cites GVC as being the problem,in that they do not have the resourses that the others have.Trouble is all this uncertainty is not doing our share price any good.Hoping the further delay is a short one.....
Just noticed on a brokers board, that Numis have sbt as a buy and new target price of 90p.dated today. What the hell is going on.Dont go too cheap sbt.........
It now seems clear that WMH does not want to pay the 61.1p,that was informally offered. The question is will SBT accept a lower amount, after clearly stating the figure has to start with a 6.WMH are using these results as a lever to get the price down to say mid 50s.If the deal falls through i am quite happy to hold on to my shares, because long term, these will come good. And we cant rule out someone coming in at the last minute........
I see q1 results are out this friday,Maybe this is what all parties have been waiting for.Negative leaks over the last few weeks have been saying results have been dire.I just hope and pray that the opposite is in fact the case......
SBT seems to be taking a bit of a battering at the moment.Negative press reports etc,Patience is the key here for me. If nothing materializes in the next 2 weeks, then it was meant to be.Because i feel over the next 12 to 24 months,Sbts share price will be north of 61p.Australia is a massive jewel in the crown for us.And when betting in play gets introduced there, this will be a great boost to earnings.
