Happy with performance? Is anyone happy with most of the AIM mining and oil exproshares? Despite good prospects in the majority of my AIM share holdings, all are moribund and bumping along the bottom. Lets face it with or without the 'clowns' in charge AIM just isn't the place to be in such speculative companies as they are more often than not short of money. Incidentally I was working in the North Sea when Hewlett was producing alot of gas and it was one of the earliest discoveries. You have us believe that this WN project has learnt nothing since those pioneering days something I find difficult to believe.

What very much puzzles me is that Union Jack Oil led by a canny David Brramhill would be 'in bed' with the couple of charlatan lifestyle directors you all variously describe as clowns, chuckle brothers and many other less complementary descriptions. UJO and RBD have similar holdings with Rathlin holding the majority stake. Are they all so incompetent or is it just RBD. The clever clever clogs who are so highly critical of the decision to use water based mud would have known so much better. They of course blame Rathlin but primarily seem to blame the 'chuckle brothers' for pssing shareholders' money away whilst paying themselves extortionate salaries. I wish I knew as much as they do.

Expen - did you have sheeps entrails to examine as well? Chartist theory is all very well and having followed the charts in my early days of investing gave up, there were just so many failures. In reality it is no better than tossing a coin.Clairvoyance isn't very successful at predicting share movements either. The only way is to have a following like ZM and his prophecies become self fulfilling, but not for long.

This investment is part of the larger plan to diversify away from the snail like progress onshore UK despite what DB says. Hopefully there will be many more 'cheap' acquisitions with minimal drilling and development costs in the near future. Good on yer UJO

Changes everything for the better. IMO the long job of achieving this goal is little recognised on here compared to the overdone drop following warrants RNS. Need to keep a sense of proportion.

That and placings are how AIM raises cash to invest. Selling or buying doesn't necessarily indicate much especially in those numbers. PHE need investment to further projects, it all cost money and there has to be incentives.

AI is another one that has pushed chip maker etc share prices into the realms of unreality. Great for making short term profits, is that what we are all after? I have had my fingers burnt too often in the past, although have made 'bonanza' profits on some and now I am somewhat older and wiser, at least I hope I am, I still think that flavour of the year, month or even week shares is not for me but then I could be wrong as I have been many times in the past. Played around with day trading in the days when SPs soared on good news etc but it all evened out over the longer term. Everything is so fast moving now. There are plenty of piranhas lurking in the dark pools (or is that another term that is out of fashion now?) out to get the us private investors' hard earned cash.

What if uranium isn't 'huge'? Isn't this the reason why our founder PJ and following the same doctrine SW are maintaining a spread of potential 'power metals'? Too many one trick ponies, especially on AIM have fallen if only on the basis of expectations not being met. Investing in small companies is hardly flavour of the year. Especially on AIM where their are so many potential pitfalls. No I am absolutely in the camp of spreading risk, IPOs when favourable and in general maintaining a widespread stable of mineral miners absolutely necessary for green energy and gold of course. What if nuclear energy, lets call it what it really is, projects collapse. Then where would we be if we were overly dependent on the flavour of the year uranium. It wasn't so very long ago when the U price collapsed mostly down to green politics and the Green parties demanding cessation of nuclear. Still have to get rid of nuclear waste and Fukashima is still fresh in politicians memories especially the Japanese.

Tray, agreed nothing makes any sense with such a low valuation on such high potential. What annoys me is that this AI projected potential has valued chip manufacturers etc,good bad and indifferent, way over what they are presently earning just on the basis that AI will be earning huge profits for them. To me it looks like another dot.com share boom in the making. Yet we have valuable assets in the ground (indirectly of course) with rare metals valued as never before and the share price does not reflect all this. I think it was spot on. I know I am a sophisticated investor even if Beaub isn't. I mean to say not many would invest in 1000s of shares in amongst the AIM penny dreadfuls
