And what with the impending Diwali we surely must be in gold exploration and production fever territory but then I thought that in 2020 and gold shares still languish. What is wrong? Surely assets in the ground count for something significant? Nothing makes sense to me these days.

(unmined) proven gold reserves these days count for nothing on AIM. I have been investing in gold shares for over 50 years and when I first 'dipped my toe inn gold shares investing exploration shares moved up and down with the gold price, reflecting assets as yet unmined. It was an oversimplification no doubt but now there seems to be little or no logic behind AIM gold share prices. About the only factor that dictates 'gold in the ground' assets is the risk that the company will run out of money, or can't find a buyer willing to take over before going into production. I find it completely illogical that a company with proven gold assets, not this share in particular, cannot command higher share prices but thats the way it is. Even crazier is the fact that share prices and cash raising in for example technology and other sector shares, often with little hope of making a profit in the near term, can be so overvalued with such little asset value underpinning their overinflated share prices. Just seems that misplaced sentiment and overoptimistic future valuations are all that counts these days to make money on the market, AIM in particular.

Yes it is but initial confusion rather than the late accounts filings could have explained the fall there are many unsophisticated punters out there who don't read things properly

How is it that gold price has reached record highs, the proven gold resources are worth more than ever, the projected costs of extracting the gold has not changed significantly, nearby Telfer milling facility waiting for more feedstock, yet the share price of GGF is near an all time low.

Money makes money, at least in Oklahoma it does. There is no comparison between an energy rich country's way of getting on and doing things than the UK's moribund 'everything' with jobsworths at every turn.

Apologies I stand corrected. 90% of my share portfolio is on AIM and I get so annoyed when placings, because they require finance quickly, immediately raise the usual bleat of 'life-style directors blah blah' among the punters. This is good news and if as promising as suggested production will be fast and fast results is what most impatient punters want to see.
