Totally agree, I am waiting with bated breath for their October trading statement for H1. Will give a bit more detail than last release earlier in September

Lloyds British Design and Manufacture including the Somers and Rota Brands (not TIC Services) has been acquired from Speedy Hire by Merino Capital and the business has been rebranded as Somers Handling Ltd.

The feedback I got was that he didn’t fit the culture. Bit of a self brand builder at the expense of others, a rep which seems to follow him around from place to place

SDY online presence is poor, and leagues behind the likes of HSS. Until that’s fixed they absolutely need a sales presence on the ground. Rolls Royce is hardly a comparator, far more directly affected by Covid and serving worldwide markets, in multiple market sectors

Do you have a view regarding the current top table and their inaction that led to the stock loss situation?

The brunt of redundancies were borne by experienced salespeople, department leaders and those with very little service to speak of. Those first 2 groups were the very people SDY have historically turned to when a recovery was needed. How do they do it from here? The reported stock losses were down to a mix of poor historic accounting practices and a mañana attitude, rather than individual people

Strange view overall as the current CEO,UK MD etc have been in the business for 15+ years in various senior level operational roles. Are they not at least partly responsible for the mishaps SDY have suffered?

Lots are.This practice is being used to both prop up this ailing business and to also cover off the upcoming NIC/ living wage increases. God forbid they try to actually grow. Said it before,new blood is needed at senior level to break this ever repeating cycle of slash and burn to deliver profit,even a shrinking profit.

CP7,macro,interest rates etc etc being constantly blamed FWB when they have a set in their ways board that can’t or don’t know how to do anything different. And as for Velocity, speak to the people that work there. Aside from the people who dreamt it up there’s almost zero belief in it,a load of cost for very little tangible and beneficial output
