UK reported its biggest one-day Covid case increase in 3 months just as the new delta variant AY.4 with the S:Y145H mutation in the spike reaches 8% of UK sequenced cases. We need urgent research to figure out if this delta plus is more transmissible, has partial immune evasion?

RE the closing date of the new role, it does some unusually long, whereas with the previously recruitment drive from few months ago, the roles had much shorter closing windows (four weeks approx), again unusally so (IMO). To me it felt like the previous recruitment drive was to get the structure in place for "something".

But, yes puzzled as to why such a long clsoing window this time round, i.e. the other extreme.

@hasiba, I'm no expert but I wonder if the new office/staff is a precursor/prerequisite of "...partnerships with bigger pharma,licensing out products , revenues ,and fcf.."?

Excellent points Krafty RE Scancell now being (even) more attractive proposition. As C7 said the move to the new office and laboratory seems to be part of a bigger picture.

Just IMO lots of clues about some kind of deal, the Zakari spin off, the new offices, the new broker, the new CEO.

I do wonder if Zakari is the key here, i.e. a more separate entity away from the university? Do/can big pharma even do deals with companies tied to universities?

@Raypointer, yep that's exactly what I meant, but you explained it much better. Any investors in other bios have experience of this happening with other companies? Or what happens in general if a big pharma gets involved.

Hi Douve87, TE your comment "...I'd imagine we would use their facilities and having our own facilities would not be necessary". Is that how it would work, you'd think the scientists and staff would continue to work where they are, can't imagine many would want to relocate? Just IMO.

Either way it seems to me a very positive move, and clearly not bothered about the extra spend which implies confidence and/or from financial news of some sort IMO.

Another somewhat naive question, what is the likely sequence of events RE partnering for covidity? Assuming testing goes ok obviously. Surely in-depth talks would have already gone on about this? I can't see Scancell going to this much effort without a plan regarding partnering in place?

And if Covidity gets CEPI funding I assume partnering is still needed regardless?

In 100% agreement TF, disasterous handling by UK gov and in particular Johnson. I thought this at the time also and now it's been confirmed.

This is what angers me the most. We had a head start, what was happening in Italy "was" going to play out here in the UK, everyone was saying it. I have lost family members to Covid, they may have not caught it in the first place had the government not been so foolhardy and reckless, and better prepared. A much quicker lockdown mandatory mask wearing much sooner could have made a huge difference. Johnson the clown thought he knew better. And typically he's hiding so he doesn't have to face the public/parliament, knowing full well this report was due.

Yep Covidity sounds like it's right in the sweet spot/middle of the vector:
- Avoids drawbacks of the adenovirus-vectored vaccines
- Targets both the S & N proteins
- Easy transportability and storage
- Needle free/Electroporation free

So an almost unique set up/approach?
