Anybody know when this should be please?

JG68 - "TU the last few years has been approx 2nd week in May" - this is not actually correct, the AGM is normally 10th to 15th May but there is normally at Trading update in the last week of April before the AGM - Lat year AGM 11th May and the TU was 26th April. This years AGM is set for 10th May so we should have a TU sometime in the next 10 days or so. I think it should be positive update all things considered (I am not going to list them here now) Looking forward to both the TU and the forward looking comments now the strike action has been averted in the UK

At the end of today there have been 2.9m shares bought and sold, huge compared to the daily average. Not all of them were sells by any means BUT if they were that would have been just 1.33% of the total shareholding being sold and yet the price dropped 23% or thereabouts - where is the logic in that?!

This is just way off the chart in terms of price drop. Take a look at the volumes of shares bought and sold At this moment in time there is a net sell off of 653,136 shares which equates to just 0.2982% of shares in circulation and yet the share price has dropped by 23.86%! This makes no sense whatsoever. I know that the AIM is has very poor liquidity but this just does not make sense. Anyone with better knowledge than me like to explain it?

As it happens, I emailed Javier at STCM a couple of days ago to ask whether they are intending to return to the June/July XD and payment dates. They are currently trying to restructure part of their business in terms of tax regime so as to avoid the 15% Witholding tax on dividends, this is not new news I know, it has been going on for about 10 months now and was the reason for the delayed payment last year - it is still ongoing. Last year they managed a work around in order to release the dividend, this year they are trying to put something more permanent structurally in place to avoid the WH Tax. They are not there yet and Javier's answer to my question was "It depends on how long the restructuring takes" Fingers crossed

Yes nick, I am also a POLY holder as well as STCM, I sold some STCM to hedge with KAP on the divis, so time will tell as to whether that was a good move, fingers crossed.

When do KAP announce their dividends? I have ex div and payment dates in July but when do they tend to announce? Looking at financials from last year I would imagine a considerable rise in Divi this year anybody got any thoughts?

ND yes that is also my understanding. There is a tax treaty in place between the uk and kaz and they share info so as not to double tax. Being a uk resident and tax payer HMRC will take tax paid in Kaz on dividends and capital gains into account and knock those payments off your uk tax liability which (This I am jot 100% sure on tbh but does seem logical) could lead to a tax refund in the UK

In my mind ND I shall continue to hold in both ISA as well as a trade account. I understand your thought process but for the sake of my poly shares, I keep them in my ISA "Just in case" they can be kept there but on the full understanding that I may have to transfer those shares outside of the tax wrapper if ISAs are no longer sustainable. Then I shall add them to my Trade account holding and, most likely transfer them to a Kaz broker, for if they cannot be held in an ISA (because no UK broker will deal with the AIX, assuming we redom and lose the LSE listing), they will have to be moved overseas or sold and I am definitely NOT selling

You don't need certificates, you can just transfer your shares away to a Kazakhstan broker

do please remember the very worst case scenario is that we take our shares out of the isa wrapper bundle them together with any trade account shares and move them offshore to a broker in kaz, that always remains the backstop which for shares in 2 companies eventually both paying divis I, personally, don't mind doing it just means paying NO more than 33% tax on divis and probably for most, less than that but it is still more tax efficient than income taxed at 40% or even 45% with the gradual loss of personal allowances. Bring it on, I am looking forward to my trip to kaz!!!!

Union members to vote on a new pay deal and strike planned for the 16th has been suspended, hopefully share price might get a boost tomorrow

Thanks for this HH, this confirms what I have been able to find out as well. We really do need a Broker who is UK based, offers SIPPs and can operate on the AIX. I think that may be tough to find, but not impossible. At least with ISA's the shares can be transferred out intact into a trade account and then sent to a Kaz broker if necessary. SIPPs are more of a problem I feel.

I am in the process of trying to establish a few key facts from various sources about what options may be available to us given a number of different scenarios. This is such a complex situation that I shall not post any information until I have it all. I am quite sure that it will transpire as more of an update rather than anything definitive but what I post will be factual and clear and not opinion, gossip or hearsay. I hope to be able to update in two to three days.

I understand your points John, but you are assuming that when (God knows when) this war ends the whole world will go back to being one big happy family as though nothing ever happened. Sanctions will be lifted as soon as peace is declared etc etc. Whilst I really hope that I will be proved wrong, I just don't see it that way, but hey, what do I know? Indeed what do any of us know for sure, it is all supposition and opinion, that's all. But to be fair whilst there is nothing concrete to discuss in terms of POLY yet, we can banter away here all day long. Have a great weekend everyone.
