Very wise Gaffy. I'm in the same boat as you just watching and waiting here. Essentially a good company with difficult trading conditions. Could easily be snapped up by a bigger player. Probably the drop has been overdone, but you know what it's like when sentiment goes agains a company - it just falls and falls.

I might be moaning about the current state of the sp but I still very much respect the likes of Fadec and Hopeful for their copious research. Naturally I never take the word of anyone else but gent your comments allow me to back up my own research, so very much appreciated.

My point all along HD is that i've been waiting for the party for 2 years now. With all the apparent potential back then, we didn't see share holder value and with the apparent potential now we're still not seeing it. So granted it might happen tomorrow but by the same token it might another 2 years

HD - you make an excellent post as always but i'd query some of your comments. Yes myself and others have reduced our holdings here in the hope of making money elsewhere, Why? Well the name of the game is to make money and to make it before the last nail on the proverbial coffin is hammered in. I honestly still think HNR has so much potential, BUT and it's a big but, the sp just hasn't matched the potential and hasn't done so for as long as I can remember.

I recall having similar conversations a couple of years ago here when we hd the same/similar potential but since then the sp hasn't really moved on. Granted it want from 12p-30+p in short space of time which was a traders delight but no good for the lth's as look where we are now. So that's the reason why I have reached here as i'm fed up with seeing constant red every day and my patience is not infinite. I'll leave some here until the end of the year and then decide what to do with that. I think your comment about picking up more shares here is a bit of a gamble. Yes it might to drop much more if any, but when is ti going to rise given past performance? so arguably punters wooly be better advised placing their funds elsewhere in the short term (if they think they can make money) as there's plenty of time for HNR to move into gear.

If you'd made your comment about "short term opportunities" then citing Mcap and sp last year, then i might have agreed with you, but people having been saying this is a good short term opportunity for a long time now and really this has ceased to become a decent short term opportunity as history has disproven that.

I'm still a holder so in no way am i against HNR. Far from it as the potential is still there. I just think this is now one for the people who are prepared to leave their money here for a number of years. I'm getting too old for that and prefer to take my chances on more near term possibilities.

I think work is going on in the background re Sturec so no concern there. This is probably the most I've been looking forward to Autumn for many years!!

I can honestly say, i've been excited by a few stocks over the years but this one takes the biscuit for me. I really can't see a negative as yet and only patience is needed. Being conservative, Christmas should comfortably see Mr Bailey being paid and hopefully the new year will see us at least doubled from where we are now. Having been disappointed in the past by other share performances, i'm trying not to get too excited but this really has so much potential if handled rightly and who better would you want at the helm than Nick.

That's taken from the July RNS which on the face of it reads very well. Sadly though over a month later the market doesn't seem to think the same, As result of no price action, i've reduced my holding like others to seek opportunities elsewhere. This is just taking too long

Agreed CB plus i don't see any issues in DRC as a problem to us. Zambia is almost a western up to date country and just think of the majors in close proximity to us who are doing very nicely. This is where I can see buy outs coming from, but not yet. NvS is not going to let us go for a song, but everyone has their price. Early days here yet.

Actually you could be right Poorman. The trades were at below mid price late yesterday.

Added to that, the two £65k large delayed trades from yesterday appeared on L2 then disappeared. They still show on the share trades though. TR1 to come???

That's very odd Fulmar. i thought it was a perfectly genuine post. Plus if a post is reported (which I find unbelievable) then normally the whole thread is removed

Calm before the storm this week in my view. i agree when buying starts in earnest and the radar picks us up then stock will be in short supply. There will always be profit taking as some of the sellers will have been in since the early 2's. The 5p mark needs to be broken to push us to the next level. Shouldn't be a problem when news starts coming.

So the result of this evenings discussions is that no one really has the foggiest if shareholder value will ever be realised. I think i'll stick to my original plan and stay invested here until the end of the year. If we don't see any positive movement i'll go elsewhere. HNR need to start to deliver and if they can't do anything by the end of the year then i'll move on - and i suspect a good few others will as well. Enough is enough.

The name of the game for all of us is to make money. HNR has had potential for as long as i can remember but it simply hasn't delivered sp wise. I'm still undecided.

Gents - A genuine question as maybe i need to change tack with regard to my HNR holding. Now about 18 months ago i invested, hoping for a reasonably quick return. I've been in and out of this in that time and am now sitting on a small loss. Yes i'd hoped for a quick profit and move on but clearly that hasn't happened and doesn't look like happening in the near term. So, as I said I'm thinking of changing tack and just putting this holding in the bottom draw for a year or so. My question is do you guys think it will be worth it for me? My alternative is to cut and run with a small loss now and invest elsewhere a la Gaffy.

You're right as well about this time of year. We know Nick has been doing his best to make the City aware of ARCM. Exciting times.
