As I watch Earth from Space the virus is something the human race has to deal with like other species deal with drought and other natural hazards. Governments are using it to avoid blame that they did not fix the faults in the economies that led to 2008!
We are going to have a "Coronavirus Recession" or a "Covid Depression" just like we don't have inflation....we have a "cost of living crisis". And we fall for it!

Too late to worry about a frenzy

An increase in the importation of precious metals... Gold is a precious metal...2331.2% increase seems a lot to me!
Actually I am a pessimist and I don't see things returning to any sort of normalcy in the near future.
And what is this pandemic all about? There were excess winter deaths of 50 thousand in 2017-18 ONS and there was no fuss then... Just a mention of the beast from the east.. Hospitals were at a 99% capacity... There was no request for us to stand in the street clapping.. the nightingale hospital only received 19 patients over the Easter week end and while I have seen lots of pictures of that hospital with new beds in it I have yet to see any patients in it with their faces pixelated??
But as I have heard several economists say that the hospitality industry is going to suffer they are not going to get those£s that would've been spent back..that income is gone and and that loss will trickle down to associated businesses! Then there the extra borrowing HMG is running up...and the lack of revenue that would be coming in is gone..missed out on that Easter weekend binge spending..and there's not much tax coming in from the sale of food...
But then I'm a glass half empty person and there's a ciggy butt in it with a half eaten stale sandwich!
I expect the worse and hope for the best...that's why I am in POG and have been for years now...and that's been a trial!!

The advancement in technology over the past 50 years has brought little benefit for the people.. yes we have big telly's and mobile phones but a better quality of life.... Nah! I do remember there being a panic but little else of that slaughter being reported! But nothing like the panic being inflicted on us today?
