Now they have to work alongside US shale, and we about to discover America all over again,I wonder what koots has got his eye on,touchstone CEO has an impressive track record too,and they are raising money next month on aim Shaken Opec seeks to work alongside shale oil producers
I like this koots fella more and more,I like the new name, columbus had a few adventures on the SW peninsula Christopher Columbus on his third voyage, had several historically documented adventures off the peninsula. He first sighted the land on 31st July, 1498, and called the island "Trinidad". According to Columbus' own records, the anchors of his ships were only dropped when he reached the cape and had called it "Punta del Arenal" which means "tip of the sandbank www.triniview.com/articles/icacos.html

And here petrotrin have another compression project, but off the SW peninsula The South West Soldado Field Development is one of the most immediate opportunities for increasing our indigenous crude oil production. The project, which is divided into three phases, is currently in its first phase of execution. Phase I is comprised of the following: - Installation of a temporary Compression and Production Facility - Drilling of eight (8) new wells - Reactivation and workover of inactive wells - Installation of a new Gas Sales pipeline - Installation of additional infrastructure and submarine pipelines to accommodate the increased production of fluids (inclusive of gas lifting capability for the reactivated wells). - Installation of replacement main oil Bulk Line from RP10 to RP1 . In the second phase, we plan to expand facilities and infrastructure while engaging in sustained drilling and workovers for optimization of production. The third and final phase will involve the maintenance of peak production through continued drilling and workover activities.
Krishna Persad 24 March · LETTER TO DAVID RENWICK ABOUT EOR AND THE (NON EXISTENT) INCENTIVES Dear David “David Renwick is easily the best Energy Journalist in T&T...has been for decades”… this is what I said in November 2014 when I did the portrait of you as a birthday present. While I still hold this view of your energy journalistic skills, I must say you somewhat lost the plot in your column of Wednesday March 22nd. You WERE correct when you said EOR is needed if oil production is to increase. You WERE correct when you quoted Dr. L. Sobers who said it would need about 100 MMCFD of CO2 to increase production by about 15,000 bopd. Let me first point out that with regard to Dr. Sober's assessment, this assumes that CO2 is the only EOR agent being used, but if a water alternating CO2 program is used (WAG) oil production could double with the same amount of CO2. Now to the incentives. You extolled about the wonderful incentives to oil producers which we can take advantage of to increase oil production (presumably through EOR). The first you mentioned was the exploration incentives. May I point out that EOR is done in fully developed fields in which all wells are already in place...ie no exploration needed. Then you mentioned that there is an incentive in place for EOR, namely a 20% reduction in SPT. Currently (and seemingly for a couple of years to come) oil prices are below $50.00 per barrel. So SPT is zero. 20% of zero is zero...no incentive. In any event this incentive only applies to heavy oil, below 18 degrees API. The bulk of the depleted fields onshore and offshore which have the greatest potential for EOR contains oil lighter than 18 degrees API. Ergo no incentive. I have said recently that for EOR to be implemented and to succeed there are five elements needed as follows: ONE Large depleted fields must be made available to operators who have the financing to implement large expensive projects. Clearly these fields must come from Petrotrin, who in fact have advertised for Expressions of Interest with a view to offering fields. They named seven fields three offshore and four onshore. I suggest that ALL of the fields must be given out quickly if we are to achieve meaningful production increases TWO Carbon Dioxide (CO2) must be available in large quantities at affordable prices. I understand there is an initiative underway which will make this happen, but am not able to say more at this time. THREE Fiscal incentives must be put in place for both the incremental production and for the suppliers of CO2. This way ALL share in a new larger pie and Government loses no revenue from existing production of oil FOUR EOR needs expertise and this expertise must be available to companies engaging in EOR. There is an initiative underway which will make this expertise available, but am not able to say more at this time. FIVE Information about EOR needs to be available and circulated to all and a group
If the compressor at point fortin is going to be used in the plan to supply CO2 to the oil fields, like KP said in the video, there is a pipeline that connects to the BP gas fields that runs right past goudron http://toolkit.ngc.co.tt/wp-content/uploads/sites/3/2013/12/tt-oil-and-gas-fields.jpg
Good find, seems to me that LEO is talking with KP and looks like NR didn't so much,as far as the EOR was concerned,I think the high pressure wells went to his head, but that's in the past now, what I like about a scheme like this is the double bubble, two things accomplished if this goes ahead, reducing CO2 emissions and getting pressure back up in the fields, hope it's done everywhere now
Vmax.I am liking the two lots of pipework statement.all the info makes me think that this is indeed a good bet
KP did say that the CO2 could be trucked by tank from point fortin which is were the LNG site is,also the TROC compressor,I would imagine that is going to be where the collection point to compress the CO2 is also going to be
Thanks in4 seemed like lots coming together last couple of days HH KP did say that we shall meet up again on the 11th of may to discuss and maybe name the large private sector conglomerate that Will be involved in supplying co2 to the fields Cannot find anything on that
Persad said double the recovery without drilling another hole, that is basically what Leo is saying,so I expect they have spoken at some point, all good to know
Petrotrins map of operations is even better, drilling onshore to offshore assets, another wytch farm but into some of the largest oil reserves in the world, but that will be next year
Oh yes it all fits together and if you listen to persad again at 40 mins from the end he states it will begin in the SW peninsula, pity we couldn't see the map he is talking about
The last post was supposed to be touchstones map of a few fields and the location of the compression plants,it is on their website under April 2017 corporate presentation page 5,all our SW fields are to the left of point fortin

Persad says the co2 will come from point fortin and point Lisa, fortin is where BP troc is located,I suppose it's a compression plant which can compress any gas that is injected into it,I guess,so it's will push co2 out and create the pressure that the fields need,Stewart Ahmed has arrived at just the right time I think, persad name dropped a few people in the video and I think our man is going to be a welcome addition to this project, looking better every day
Ha ha,could be,little sideline
Point fortin is on the SW peninsula,so very close to cedros and bonasse
