The accounting issue has been around for a few months now so why the rather large drop today? Or are ppl getting frustrated and cutting their losses?
If you sell now you are selling at the bottom or close to the bottom.
must be getting peed off with this dog!
I cant see why the update would cause a 10% drop in SP. revenue is up, debt is coming down. Maybe the accounting practise change has highlighted bad accounting practise that has skewed the previous accounts..dont get it.
Took the kids to Alton towers yesterday and was shocked to see it was pretty much empty. We didnt have to queue for more than 10mins at any of the rides. Even Oblivion had very little queuing. Lets hope their other attraction numbers can compensate until memory fades on the AT debacle.
Anyone willing to stick their neck out and predict one?
.....plus if you look at the drop of 30% in DRAX in a day, we have, until today, gotten off lightly. INFINIS isnt going bust. It provides 7% of UK renewables and whether the government like it or not they still have carbon targets to meet and cant ignore climate change for ever. That said, I havent been able to work out the true value of the company except for a 10% reduction in pre-tax OP but clearly the sellers (and there have been enough sellers) think the company is worth 25% less as a result of the budget.
I think the sell-off is just market sentiment following the budget. Clearly as it stands now, renewables is just another power source. It doesnt get any favours from the government and is now competing against cheap oil. And there isnt any real incentive to invest in new projects so until the oil price increases the company will have to tread water.
Wow didnt know they could do that. wouldnt their holding have to initiate an RNS?
The share trading profile no longer makes sense to me. Over the last 2 days there have been more buying than selling and I cant see a huge short position yet the share is tanking and not in a few pence but major jumps. Clearly someone is benefiting but I cant think who. I dont see what the mm's could be gaining from it.
Infi is in free fall yet Drax is up 6%??!??!??!
FL a good, well reasoned argument. Upshot is not to panic, this is a good company with good prospects and great cash generation potential.
I didnt think the company was that dependant on subsidies that removing it would knock 10% off the value of the company. No doubt it will keep falling tomorrow as it is ex-divi
This is an incredibly volatile share. Any reason why it swings from 10% drop to 6% increase in the space of just a few hours... Clearly not one for the faint hearted.
I cant see why the trading update would cause a 10%+ fall in the sp...unless I missed something.
Looks like BT got the better of the deal. SKY seem to have overpaid!
Someone is selling a major stake (£5m) probably the reason for the big drop today.
